Nothing the ego perceives is interpreted correctly. Not only does the ego cite Scripture for its purpose, but it even interprets Scripture as a witness for itself.

Quotation No. 84

You have elected to be in time rather than eternity and therefore believe you are in time. Yet your election is both free and alterable.

You do not belong in time. Your place is only in eternity, where God Himself placed for ever.

If you identify with the ego, you must perceive yourself as guilty. Whenever you respond to your ego you will experience guilt, and you will fear punishment.

 You must learn to think with God. To think with Him is to think like Him. This engenders joy, not guilt, because it is natural.
